The best Foreplay alternatives for B2B

The tools after Nimblet are in no ranked order.

  1. Nimblet. Nimblet starts from your own ads, not from a swipe file. It syncs your LinkedIn and Meta ads and reads each one against your company and buyer. It says why an angle works, then writes the next brief and ad drafts from your results, your documents and your competitors' ads. It pulls competitor ads from the LinkedIn and Meta Ad Libraries. It has no swipe file and no general ad library.
  2. Superads. It fits if you want a report on your own ads across Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn and Google Ads, with a score from 0 to 100 for each ad. It also lets you browse Meta ads from any brand. Its help center says Superads AI does not generate ad creative. The Professional plan starts at $125 a month, billed yearly, per its pricing page. See Superads alternatives.
  3. DatAds. It fits if you sell to consumers and want a loop of analysis, ad library, briefs and finished static ads. Its Inspiration page searches Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn ads. Its analysis of your own account covers Meta, TikTok and Google. Plans start at EUR 199 a month, per its pricing page. See DatAds alternatives.
  4. Motion. It fits if you spend most of your budget on Meta and want deep analytics on it. Its LinkedIn integration is a beta for image and video ads, per its help center. Starter costs $999 a month, per its pricing page. See Motion alternatives.
  5. Claude or ChatGPT with an ads MCP server. It fits if you run Meta only and have someone who likes to build. You build the stored read of each ad and the briefs yourself. See the DIY route.

When does Foreplay fit better?

Foreplay fits if your team needs a shared swipe file, a searchable ad library, daily competitor tracking on Meta and storyboards for designers. Its reports on your own ads cover Meta and TikTok.

You can also run both: Foreplay to save ads from anywhere, Nimblet for your own ads and your competitors.

What does Nimblet do that a swipe file cannot?

A swipe file shows what other brands run and for how long. It does not know your company, your buyer or your results, so it cannot say which idea fits you. Nimblet answers from four sources together: your results on LinkedIn and Meta, the read of each of your ads, your brand context and team documents, and your competitors' ads.

It reads your own ads. Nimblet syncs your LinkedIn and Meta ads with images, video, copy and daily results. Each ad with spend gets one read, in the background, against the company, product, buyer and market you set. The read names the core message, the emotion the ad plays on, the proof, the offer and the person it speaks to. Video ads get a transcript and scenes with time stamps. On LinkedIn, thought leader ads and document ads are their own formats, and you see who saw each ad by seniority, job function, industry and company size.

It says why an angle works. Nib, the Nimblet assistant, puts your results next to the angle each ad uses, across platforms and formats. He also searches your sales notes, positioning and other documents. So an answer can name the angle that brings results, the buyer question behind it, and the claim no competitor makes yet.

It writes the next ad from that. A Nimblet brief starts from your top ads, a counter-example, your competitors' angles, your landing page offer, your documents and the drafts your team already reviewed. Each angle names its persuasion mechanism from a built-in psychology library, such as loss aversion, risk reversal or enemy naming. Separate playbooks for LinkedIn and Meta batches set how a concept must read on each channel. Nimblet then drafts single images, carousels and video storyboards in your brand. Your feedback on the drafts goes into the next brief.

It reads competitors the same way. Nimblet pulls competitor ads from the LinkedIn Ad Library and the Meta Ad Library and gives them the same read as your own. It writes a positioning summary per competitor and market news each week. Ad libraries show no spend or results, and the Meta library covers ads that ran in the EU and EEA. See competitor ads.

What is Foreplay built for?

Foreplay is a creative workflow tool for ad teams that collect, study and brief ads. Its homepage says it serves over 10,000 ad teams and agencies. It has five products:

  • Swipe File. Save ads from anywhere to shared boards, with a Chrome extension and a mobile app.
  • Discovery. Search a library that Foreplay puts at "over 100M ads" with AI search and filters.
  • Spyder. Track the ads a competitor launches. The pricing table lists "24/7 Competitor Meta Ad Tracking", with competitor ad history of up to three years and landing page insights.
  • Lens. Reports on your own ads. The pricing page says: "Connect your Meta & TikTok ad accounts".
  • Briefs. An AI script generator, brand profiles and a storyboard generator. Per the Briefs page, a brief goes to a designer, video editor or creator, who makes the final ad.

Foreplay publishes its prices, from $59 a month. No plan is priced by ad spend, and the pricing page says there are no usage limits. Foreplay also runs an MCP server for Claude and ChatGPT that searches Discovery, your swipe file and your Spyder watchlist. It has a B2B and SaaS page aimed at demand gen teams.

Does Foreplay work for B2B teams on LinkedIn?

Foreplay works on LinkedIn for inspiration, not for your own results. Per its homepage, its Chrome extension saves ads from the LinkedIn Ad Library. Its LinkedIn guide says a saved ad keeps "ad copy, call-to-action, landing page and more".

For your own LinkedIn ads and for automatic competitor tracking, we found no LinkedIn support:

  • Lens connects "Meta & TikTok ad accounts", per the pricing page.
  • Spyder tracks competitor ads on Meta, per the same page and the Spyder page.
  • The B2B and SaaS page does not name LinkedIn as a channel.

Based on these pages, a B2B team can collect LinkedIn ads in Foreplay by hand. We found no way to see in Foreplay how its own LinkedIn ads perform, or to get new LinkedIn competitor ads without saving them one by one.
